Tongue tie clinic appointments involve advance professional preparation, specialist clinical staffing, and clinic room costs that are incurred once a booking is confirmed. Please read the following carefully before booking.

Nature of the Appointment

Tongue tie clinic appointments include a full in-clinic assessment of oral function and feeding.

Some babies attend following prior identification of a tongue tie by another professional; others attend for initial assessment. In all cases, assessment on the day is required to confirm findings and determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate.

Where a tongue tie is confirmed and treatment is clinically indicated, division may be offered on the day.

Treatment is not guaranteed. Clinical opinions may differ, and a decision not to proceed with treatment does not constitute cancellation, incomplete service, or non-delivery of the appointment.

The appointment fee covers specialist assessment, professional time, clinical staffing, clinic facilities, and follow-up care as outlined below. It does not represent a guaranteed procedure.

Advance Preparation and Clinic Booking

This appointment includes professional services that begin on booking, prior to clinic attendance.

Once booking is confirmed, advance preparation and clinic arrangements commence. This includes review of completed intake forms, feeding history, and symptoms; clinical preparation and triage; booking of clinic facilities and specialist equipment; booking of a CQC-registered, fully insured independent practitioner; and allocation of IBCLC time for assessment and support.

These services and costs are incurred regardless of whether treatment is ultimately performed.

For this reason, tongue tie clinic appointment fees are payable once booking is confirmed. Where advance preparation and clinic arrangements have been undertaken, the fee is not refundable, including in cases where treatment is not clinically indicated on the day.

Clinical Practitioner and Responsibility

Tongue tie assessment and any treatment are carried out by a CQC-registered, fully insured independent practitioner working alongside us in clinic.

Clinical decision-making, consent, and responsibility for any procedure sit with the treating practitioner. Our service includes clinic coordination, IBCLC assessment and support, and follow-up care as outlined below.

Follow-Up and Aftercare

Post-procedure wound-healing support and follow-up clinic checks are included as part of the service.

Follow-up checks are normally arranged at the next available clinic, typically within 7 days. More than one follow-up check may be provided where clinically indicated, provided appointments are attended as scheduled. Follow-up arrangements are made directly with us.

If a further clinic appointment is recommended beyond standard aftercare, this is booked separately and charged at the current clinic rate.

Cancellations and Non-Attendance

Due to advance professional preparation, clinical staffing commitments, and clinic room costs, tongue tie clinic appointment fees are not refundable once booking is confirmed. Non-attendance or late cancellation does not entitle the client to a refund.

Important Notes

This service provides professional assessment and clinical decision-making and does not replace medical care.

Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Differences of clinical opinion do not constitute a fault in service.

The fee reflects professional services, preparation, clinic resources, and follow-up care, not solely whether a procedure is performed.
